About the book
While honeymooning on a Baltic cruise, Carly meets the mysterious Kateryna who appeals to her for help. Believing Kateryna to be fleeing spousal abuse, Carly is happy to get her safely to England, where they disembark from the ship. She never expects to see Kateryna again. When she finds Kateryna dying on the banks of Loch Ness, Carly realises that she was not whom she pretended to be. Unfortunately, Kateryna’s killers think that Carly has something that Kateryna took from them, and pursue Carly and family from the tip of John O Groats to Land’s End.

Another great read in the Carly Kitchings Mystery Series. This one takes you abroad and describes the adventure of her family travels and resultant tribulations with flair and humor. Anyone who has traveled with the whole family will really relate to the characters. This is definitely a fun read for any mystery enthusiast. I am recommending the series to all my reading buddies!

This is my third Carly Kitchings Mystery and I wasn’t disappointed. The author moved her setting from the familiar Canadian stage of her first two novels and shows she is equally at home writing international mysteries. I felt I was travelling with Carly and her family and loved the historical vignettes that accompanied the unfolding dramas. The plot was tight and the characters finely drawn – a now familiar trademark of the author. Another cracking good read and I hope there are more in the offing.
